Position Purpose
This level of engineer performs work including routine functions requiring the application of standard engineering principles, procedures and evaluation criteria.
Essential Functions
DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING *Tactical Responsibilities:
?Design, support, and test of low to moderate complexity components and sub-components
?Develop and facilitate execution of test plans
?Possibly guide/direct a technician *Strategic – Low
?Internal mentoring and communication
Other Functions
PRODUCT SUPPORT
?Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
?Solid knowledge of appropriate WISE applications
?Complete/coordinate level 1, 2 and 3 derivatives
?Solid root cause analysis skills
?Strong knowledge in a narrow group of products
?Knowledge of engine or turbine product testing capabilities (i.e. - knowledge of flow stand parameters and capabilities)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
?Basic use and application of FEA tools
?Basic use of six sigma tools and methodologies (i.e. - DFSS)
?Solid knowledge within a narrow spectrum of engine or turbine products/systems
?Competent knowledge of engineering quality systems (Gateway process, Engineering change process, etc.).
?Good English communication abilities like listening, speaking, reading and writing
Education or Formal Training
Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or the equivalent technical experience
Experience Required
For a level 2 engineer - 2-5 years in a related field
