Carries out supervisory responsibilities: planning, prioritizing, delegating and monitoring work, coaching and training employees; hiring, goal setting, performance reviews and salary planning Monitors projects, prepares budgets, controls spending to budgets, prepares progress reports and presentations for management reviews Reviews and analyzes project proposals to determine if benefits derived from potential applications justify expenditures Assures employees are being developed so that talent is retained and adequate bench strength is maintained Provides technical support to Operations as needed to meet customer requirements Responsible for maintaining and improving process performance. Responsible for technical leadership when working on safety, quality and manufacturing cost improvement Uses data for decision making and applies Six Sigma problem solving tools as appropriate Participates on project teams working on developing new or improved processes Maintains positive employee relationships within and between departments as well as other Trane locations Must be team-oriented with strong leadership, decision making capabilities and interpersonal skills Must be willing and able to work during all production working hours Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field required. Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing engineering environment. 2 years or more in a leadership role preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred Working knowledge of and experience applying Demand Flow and Lean Manufacturing techniques General understanding of applicable quality management systems, machining, assembly and test processes. |
