Responsibilities General Tasks: Managing staff, including, recruitment, retention, training, performance evolution and motivation; Project management; Department short term/long term planning, target setup and implementation. Liaise with other departments/business associates in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant department actives and support in relation to the company’s sales, purchasing, material management, production and overall operation functions. Adhere to corporate, local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies. Use collaborative knowledge/expertise to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in the logistics activity and procedures. Monitor, record, analyze and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to logistics activities. Plan/implement performance enhancement projects; Identify areas for cost reduction, implement strategies for cost reduction Managing warehouse department operation: Ensure the smooth operation of direct storage and distribution activities of the company, ensure products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner. Take precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss, from both nature disasters and/or human errors to ensure the safety and security of customer properties. Ensure warehouse health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock. Ensure strict stock control, and smooth warehousing and distribution activities Ensure optimum stock levels are achieved with respect to the company’s overall production and material planning. Ensure the stock control systems are up to date and plan future capacity requirements in terms of storage space, consumable, equipment and personnel. Managing shipping department operation: Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process. Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost- effective and lawful execution of all import/export actives. Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export law and procedures, tariffs and duties; licences and restrictions. Maintain good relationship with import/import and related authorities, and customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities. Anticipate, research and report on future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of department’s own strategy, resources and procedures. Plan and implement import/export strategy, resources and procedures Investigate, plan and implement strategically effective and relevant transport methods, which meet optimally the needs of the organization and its suppliers and customers. Qualification Requirement The ideal profile for this job is as follows: At least 8-10 years logistics and supply chain experience in a manufacturing or OEM environment with a minimum of 5 years experience at managerial level. Possessing a Degree in Logistics/ Business Administration Being result oriented with good organizational and strategic capability. Having ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment will be advantageous. |
