 职位描述/要求：
Job Title: Senior Purchasing Director

Reports to: VP of Global Purchasing


Purpose: To develop, lead and execute global purchasing strategies for the business and support the Asian Business Team


Responsibilities

1. Developing and implementing major raw material strategies as agreed with the VP of Global Purchasing and the Regional Business units

2. Propose, Develop and Implement major cost reduction programs

3. Analyze Asian market dynamics for polymer, fibers and nonwovens and provide input to developing global and regional purchasing strategies

4. Maintain high level contact and relationships with vendors and partners in the Asian region

5. Work with manufacturing plants suppliers on quality, service and cost programs that support business goals and objectives

6. Provide monthly reports as required by the Asian Business Team and the VP of Purchasing showing variances and action plans to improve performance to budget

7. Ensure suppliers meet PGI corporate guidelines for safety, health and environmental standards and set an example in personal behavior for safety


Skills

Analytical: Ability to study and see patterns in raw material pricing and trends
Strategic: Ability to develop strategic plan for Asian sourcing
Negotiating: Understand how to position suppliers to the companies advantage and then negotiate favorable terms and conditions
Contract Law: Understanding of commercial agreements and contractual law required to secure reliable supply of materials
Team Skills: Ability to work alone and within teams
Self Starter: High level of initiative as this position will require good network skills into US and Europe and will not be a closely supervised position
Good English skills – written and oral
Computer skills – Microsoft package – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook


Knowledge

Understanding of Fibers, Nonwovens and Polymers in the Asian region
Understanding fiber, nonwoven manufacturing processes
Understanding quality, specification and six sigma principles
Understanding of US corporate culture
Experience

1. 10 years of purchasing experience, 5 of which at a senior level

2. Worked in corporate environment

3. Worked in a matrix organization

4. Worked in fibers, nonwovens or chemical industry

5. Covered Asian region and can travel to various locations


Typical Activities

Finding viable alternative sources of fibers and nonwoven fabrics in the Asian region
Developing the sourcing plans for fibers and nonwovens
Meeting with senior level people in Asia and helping to form company to company relationships
Analyzing monthly trends in raw materials and major economic changes to provide guidance to business units on likely changes in raw material prices
Support the sales and marketing organizations on major price changes and or supplier changes
Sit on Asian Business Team
